The short version. ABAConvert turns a spreadsheet into a file. It never moves money and never sees your payment details. Check every file and send a test batch before your first real pay run.
1. Who we are
ABAConvert is operated by Arva Industries Pty Ltd (ABN 56 702 661 247), an Australian company trading as ABA Convert. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means the person or business using the site.
2. What ABAConvert does, and what it does not do
ABAConvert converts a spreadsheet of payment details into a file in the ABA (Cemtex) format used by Australian banks for direct entry payments. That is all it does.
We are not a payment service. We do not move money, hold funds, act as an intermediary, or connect to your bank in any way. We are not an authorised deposit-taking institution and we do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence, because nothing we do requires one. After you download a file, you upload it to your own banking platform and authorise the payments there, under your bank's terms and your own internal controls.

3. The conversion happens on your device
The conversion runs in your web browser using code delivered with the page. Your spreadsheet is read in the browser, converted there, and the result is handed back to you. It is not uploaded to us and we do not receive, store or have access to the payment details in it — BSBs, account numbers, names or amounts.
This is a statement about how the service works today. If it ever changes, we will say so on this page and on the site before the change takes effect.
4. Checking the file is your responsibility
We check each row against the ABA specification and against the BSB directory published by the Australian Payments Network, and we tell you what we find. Those checks are a help, not a guarantee.
You are responsible for confirming that the payments in the file are the ones you intend to make, to the people you intend to pay, for the amounts you intend to pay them, before you authorise anything. Before your first production run, send a small test batch of one or two payments and confirm it lands.
5. No warranty that a bank will accept a file
We follow the published BECS direct entry specification and the requirements of the banks we list. Banks vary in what they accept, and change their requirements without notice. We do not warrant that any particular file will be accepted by any particular bank, or that a payment will reach its intended recipient.
6. BSB data
BSB information is derived from the directory published by the Australian Payments Network. We refresh it periodically and show on the site when it was last current. Banks add, merge and close BSBs continuously, so the directory may not reflect a change made since our last refresh. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of AusPayNet.
7. Acceptable use
You may use ABAConvert for lawful payments you are authorised to make. You must not use it to create files for payments you are not entitled to make, attempt to disrupt the service or the people using it, or misrepresent your relationship with us.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the site available but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Because the conversion runs in your browser, a page you already have open will generally keep working even if our site is unreachable.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims connected with ABAConvert is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Where you have paid us nothing, our liability is limited to resupply. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost business or the cost of correcting a payment.
10. Fees
ABAConvert is currently free to use and we are not taking payments. If we introduce paid plans, prices will be shown before you are asked to pay, in Australian dollars and including GST, and you will be given a tax invoice.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects you, we will make that clear on the site rather than relying on you to notice.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that state.
